The Love in Your Eyes

The Love in Your Eyes

Letters and words and numbers fade from black into grey,

Lines and angles and circles specked and dotted they’ll stay.

Faces and flowers and paintings are dreary and drab,

Sometimes I can’t see a dot, a dash or a dab.

The shadows of mountains and the vistas between,

Are just big doodles, some blue and some green.

The Highway rolls by the signs go unread,

I have not a clue of what they just said.

The night is as clear as the day may be drear,

At least I can hear when footsteps are near.

There is much I can’t see, but I won the prize,

When I got to feel the love in your eyes.
