Headed off to Texas

Headed off to Texas, down by the Alamo,

  headed off to Texas, forget about the snow.

Gonna’ put on my Luccheses and dance until it’s dawn,

  do the Texas Two Step or maybe just rock on.

See pretty Senoritas down on the River Walk,

  learn to say y’all when I need to talk.

Dine on enchiladas, or Texas barbeque,

  maybe drink a longneck of my favorite brew.

Gonna’ find my way, out to Luckenbach,

  and climb up to the top, of Comanche Rock.

Gonna’ watch the broncs at the rodeo,

  gotta’ live it up, in San Antonio.

Visit the Fiesta or the Starving Artist Show,

  take an evening walk, candles all aglow.

Headed off to Texas, where I once called home,

  to capture some memories, in color Kodachrome.
