Shoulda

I shoulda bought a rose instead of that last beer,

I shoulda settled down anywhere but here.

I shoulda drove a truck,

Skipped Vegas with my luck.

I shoulda stopped my lyin’

Though wasn’t even tryin’

I should saved some dough,

But it was mine to blow.

I shoulda saw the light,

And never picked no fight.

I shoulda got a job,

Instead, I had to rob.

I shoulda paid my fine,

And maybe walked the line,

I shoulda oughta took a hike,

Insteada shootin’ old man Pike.

I shoulda rode the railroad train,

Instead I robbed it on the plain.

I shoulda never done,

What put me on the run.

I should change my ways,

Before them Judgement days.

  1. I just saw the wanted poster for the “Shoulda” poem. I shoulda opened it sooner, but I assumed it was the same picture as the Facebook post! Hope you guys are enjoying the last days of warmer weather. I’m certainly not particularly looking forward to winter, but what the heck. Sold my big King size bed to make room for a twin size one. My bedroom will feel ginormous! The girl is just about here to pick it up! Gonna be a busy week. I keep thinking about you guys. I never get to Sierra Vista but think I might just have to take a trip just to see you! I miss y’all! ________________________________
