Kidnapped

A.K.A. Sweetcakes

Yes, I knew what freedom was,

I roamed the world just because.

Days of leisure, having fun,

  Basking in the summer sun.

Not a care in all the world,

  My destiny not unfurled.

But I was snatched from the street,

By one who was soft and sweet.

A hostage was my heart made,

And all my plans were waylaid.

Bound by rings of solid gold,

  As chapel bells mourning tolled.

A captive of love I am,

There’s no escape from this jam.

The ransom’s high, I can’t pay,

I am stuck, I have to stay.

All in all, I must admit,

I miss freedom, not a bit.

  1. And I see it every time I see you two together. I get a little jealous that you two get along so good, but not really. It’s a joy to see how you work things out over the years. !
